Joaquin Gonzalez, 33, of Chicago, had just gotten into a car with a woman around 1:20 a.m. when a stranger approached them and started a fight, then attacked Gonzalez with a knife.
Police arrested 30-year-old Harlin Ramos overnight. He's now charged with murder.
Police say the woman, who escaped unharmed, tried to help Gonzalez but he died at the scene.
