Three men and one woman were shot around 4:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of West Garfield.
All victims are all in their 40s and 50s. They were taken to Mt. Sinai and Stroger, with conditions that ranged from critical to fair. One neighbor said he was surprised that these particular people were involved.
"I was surprised to hear that somebody was shooting right there, man. You know, them guys don't do nothing but sit there and have a beer, so, them older guys like me, they ain't out here gang banging or nothing," neighbor Leonard Dockery said.
This shooting is not far from the scene of a fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl on Monday afternoon.
Police continue to investigate.
