Teens with disabilities attend Memphis prom

April 30, 2014 (MEMPHIS)

Several churches held a prom dress donation drive and fundraiser events to supply outfits and pay for the black tie event, according to ABC News.

110 people showed up for the event, including one couple in their 60s who never went to prom when they were younger.

Organizer Ashley Parks told ABCNews.com that one parent sent a thank-you note for loving her children "as much as God loves them."

More than 350 volunteers helped work on the event, including Memphis Grizzlies announcer Rick Trotter, who announced every attendee's name as they walked down the red carpet.
