A new report reveals the name of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana came up during the corruption investigation into State Senator Leland Yee and former Chinatown gangster Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow.

But nothing was found and the FBI dropped the probe.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, an undercover FBI operative contacted Montana about an unspecified business proposition during its investigation into Yee and Chow.

Fear that the names of high profile people like Montana would surface is among the reasons the judge in the case plans to issue a protective order, which would bar attorneys from disclosing certain evidence in the corruption case against Yee and Chow to the public.
