Aurora attempted child abduction was false report, police say

AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- Police now say a 10-year-old girl, who reported she was waiting for a ride to school when a woman grabbed her and threatened her, made the story up.

The girl reported the incident took place just after 8 a.m. Monday in the 1200-block of Marshall Boulevard. The girl the woman ran eastbound toward Farnsworth Avenue when the girl screamed.

The attacker was described as a white woman in her 30s who has moles on her face and a scar under her right eye. The child told police the woman was wearing a black jacket with her hood up and a multi-colored scarf over her face.
