AURORA, Ill. (WLS) -- The FAA says the air traffic communications center in Aurora is on track to open as scheduled next Monday.

The center was knocked offline nearly two weeks ago when a contract worker allegedly cut radio and data lines and set fire to other equipment. That resulted in the cancellation and delay of thousands of flights across the nation.

Other FAA facilities have been handling air traffic services until the Aurora center can be put back online.
