Barrington house fire kills 1

BARRINGTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Officials are investigating the cause of a Barrington house fire that killed one person, police said.

Fire crews arrived to the residence around 1:15 a.m. Saturday in the 21000-block of N. 21st Street, finding it fully engulfed in flames, officials said.

The victim, who police believe was the 88-year-old homeowner, was found in an upstairs bedroom after the fire was struck out.

Officials have not released the identity of the victim and are continuing to investigate.
