CHICAGO (WLS) -- Bicycling on the streets of Chicago has never been safer.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel helped celebrate the installation of more than 100 miles of protected bike lanes over the past four years.

Some of those projects include the 606 trail and a new flyover at Navy Pier.

There are now nearly 300 miles of lanes in the city, making Chicago one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation.
