Woman gives birth to baby girl on platform of downtown CTA Blue Line station

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A mother gave birth to a baby girl at a downtown CTA Blue Line subway station Monday morning, Chicago Fire Media said.

Fire officials said a 26-year-old woman gave birth on the platform at the LaSalle Blue Line Station at about 2 a.m.

The mother and her newborn girl were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and both are doing well.
