Coast Guard rescued 16 from boat near Navy Pier

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The U.S. Coast rescued 16 people from a boat on Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The people were celebrating the Fourth of July on a 35-foot vessel when it caught fire just off Navy Pier. No injuries were reported.

The fire started near the engine, but the cause of the fire is unclear.

The boat was towed by a private company to the harbor.
