Boat house construction begins on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Work is underway on a new boat house on Chicago's South Side.

Crews broke ground on the $8.5 million facility in the Bridgeport neighborhood Sunday.

The boat house is expected to open next fall, and will feature a training facility and a boat storage building.

The Chicago Park District will offer recreational activities for people living near the boat house.
