The body of a man was recovered from the Chicago River in the Loop Tuesday morning.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The body of a man was recovered from the Chicago River in the Loop Tuesday morning.

The body was found in the river near Clark Street. Chicago fire and police crews were seen in the river and the body was recovered shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Police said that the body belongs to a black man, possibly in his mid 20s or early 30s. Authorities have not released the man's identity.

Chicago police are investigating. Further details were not immediately available.
