CHICAGO -- Police are on scene after a body was found on the railroad tracks Thursday morning.

According to Metra's Twitter, the body was found on Halsted Street and Archer Avenue.

Chicago Police officials said the body was of a 40-year-old man. No further details have been released.

The Metra Twitter account also said the line is reversing back to Joliet so commuters can find alternate transportation if they do not want to wait for the tracks to reopen.

Officials also suggest transferring to the Rock Island line once they arrive at Joliet.

Inbound trains to Chicago from the Heritage Corridor are being impacted as police investigate. Extensive delays are anticipated until further notice.
