CHICAGO (WLS) -- Gov. Bruce Rauner is hosting a cocktail fundraiser Wednesday night that will help raise money to restore the Executive Mansion in Springfield.
The 160-year-old home, which is the official residence of the Illinois governor, has fallen into disrepair.
The governor and the non-profit board that is charged with caring for the historic home have launched a fundraising effort to repair the structure.
Rauner has said no state money will be used for repairs, which initial estimates put at $9 million.
