Burglars targeting Buffalo Grove homes that appear empty, police say

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are warning homeowners after a rash of burglaries in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove. Four homes were hit in just three days recently.

Police held a public meeting Thursday night with residents, where investigators said the burglars look for homes that seem empty. They break-in during late afternoon and early evening hours, making off with cash and jewelry.

Police are reminding homeowners to close garages and lock the garage door that leads into your home.
