LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WLS) -- New Prairie High School was briefly placed on lockdown after a 9mm bullet was found in the boy's bathroom, La Porte County police say.
The La Porte County Sheriff's Office said an administrator from the school called them around 9:15 a.m. to report that a bullet had been found in a boy's bathroom in the Freshman Academy area of the school. The school was placed on immediate lockdown and both lockers and common areas were searched.
No additional bullets or weapons were found. The lockdown was lifted at 10:30 a.m.
A bullet was previously found at New Prairie High School in late February. Police are asking anyone with any information about either of these incidents to contact the Sheriff's Office at 219-326-7700 or to call the area Crime Stoppers at 800-342-STOP (7867).
