Sunday marks the end of an era for a northwest suburban Hostess Bakery.

The plant in suburban Schiller Park has officially closed its doors for good.

The bakery is where Twinkies and other iconic sweets were baked for the past 84 years.

Four hundred employees are affected by the closure.

Twinkies snack cakes were invented right in the Chicago area back in 1930.
