CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Cook County Board presented ABC 7 Photojournalist Ken Bedford with a proclamation for his 45 years of service on Tuesday.

"I am deeply honored and humbled by this award. It's been a wonderful ride and I hope to do a lot more," Bedford said. "Thank you and God bless."

Bedford's storied career includes working as Oprah Winfrey's studio photographer. He worked with the late Peter Jennings and Max Robinson and has also interviewed numerous celebrities.

Equally important to his job has been his work in the community, including raising awareness for breast cancer.

ABC7's President and General Manager John Idler was in attendance to thank Bedford for his service.

"Quite a remarkable accomplishment. Thank you for representing us in the community so well. We appreciate everything you do for us," Idler said.

Bedford was also honored Friday in New York with the 45-year service award from ABC.
