101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2014

OAKBROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- Dozens of local companies have been singled out as the best to work for in the greater Chicago area in the 2014 list of 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Oakbrook on Monday. Judy Hsu emceed the event.

At a time when many corporations are cutting pay and reducing benefits, these companies are doing just the opposite. Out of the 101 companies awarded, a handful also received the "elite" recognition.

The winners were chosen for emphasizing work-life balance, employee development and compensation. Awarding employees with pedicure Fridays, cash bonuses, on-site daycare and scholarships for employees' children are a few examples of incentives these companies offer.
