16-year-old shot by police on South Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 16-year-old male was shot by a police officer Friday night in the city's Englewood neighborhood, officials said.

The shooting happened at about 7:30 p.m. near West 71st Street and South Marshfield Avenue, police said.

The man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.

No other details have been released.
