CHICAGO (WLS) -- A downed power line left Chicago firefighters trapped at the scene of an Austin house fire.

The fallen line sent sparks flying into the air and forced the firefighters to stay in the yard near South Austin Boulevard and West Madison Street.

A second crew cut through a chain link fence in the neighboring yard to allow the trapped firefighters to escape.

The fire spread through the home and rendered it uninhabitable. None of the residents were hurt.
