Armed robbers posing as ride-share drivers on Near North Side, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Police Department is warning residents Tuesday of armed robbers posing as ride-share drivers to target victims.

Victims were picked up in what they thought was a ride-share vehicle before being robbed, police said.

Police said the armed robberies happened in River North, Lincoln Park, and other Near North Side neighborhoods. All robberies happened on Saturday or Sunday early in the morning.
