CHICAGO -- A 14-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday evening in Roseland on the Far South Side.
The boy was attacked just after 5 p.m. in the 200-block of West 110th Place while he was standing on the sidewalk, according to Chicago police and fire officials.
He was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police did not initially release any additional details about why the boy was shot. No one was in custody as of Monday morning.
There were 31 people shot, five fatally, in shootings in Chicago over the weekend, and several of those shot were teenagers.
