ComEd officials met with unhappy residents about a plan to install controversial power lines along a 9-mile stretch in the northwest suburbs.

The project would stretch from Itasca to Roselle and Bartlett.

Many residents fear those high-voltage lines near their homes could have serious health implications.

But ComEd officials said the lines will improve service reliability along the southern edge of the nearly completed Elgin-O'Hare Expressway.

ComEd has held several public information meetings over the last few weeks.
