CHICAGO (WLS) -- City leaders say Chicago Public Schools are on the way up in releasing the district's first-ever academic progress report.
The report highlighted the district's record low 6.8 percent dropout rate. It also lists improvements in in attendance rate, graduation rate and standardized test performance.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel was also on hand to give out digital report cards to students at Brunson Elementary who participated in summer learning programs throughout the city.
