1 dead in Dan Ryan crash at 63rd

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Illinois State Police are investigating what appears to be the first fatal crash of 2016 in the Chicago area.

State police confirmed Friday morning that one person was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway at 63rd Street. Authorities did not release information about the victim.

Investigators closed the local lanes for some time to determine the cause of the crash. Traffic was diverted to the express lanes.
