CHICAGO (WLS) -- The annual report card on Illinois schools was released Monday morning and it shows academic performance among students across the state has stayed the same.

The report from the Illinois State Board of Education also found attendance has slightly increased. However more students are not showing up to school at all.

The truancy rate went up from 8.7 percent to nearly 10 percent.

There is some good news from the report, as more students considering going to go to college scored higher on standardized tests.
