CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Teachers Union House of Delegates met Wednesday evening, less than a week before their proposed date to strike.

Members of the union's Big Bargaining Team said a strike is the last resort for the union, who are still negotiating a contract with Chicago Public Schools.

Teachers could be walking picket lines Tuesday, Oct. 11. If that happens, schools will stay open during their regular bell schedules and students will get free breakfast and lunch.
