Low-income students receive free school supplies

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Students at Carter School of Excellence at 57th and Michigan received their own boxes of free school supplies Wednesday from the nonprofit organization Back to School Illinois.

The entire student body, who are mostly low-income students, received the free supplies.

Organizers only asked that the students do their homework and make their parents proud.
