Our American Voice: Civic engagement is more than just voting

CHICAGO -- A group of young people in west suburban Berwyn are getting active in government and making Chicago proud.

"Our American Voice" recently launched at Heritage Middle School.

Kristen Caprarola, a Heritage teacher, and eighth-graders Camila and Veronica joined ABC7 News at 11 to talk about how the group uses community problem-solving to the teach young people about how democracy works, and get them involved in the process.
