Soul legend Gladys Knight visits Chicago charter school

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Legendary soul singer Gladys Knight celebrated the music program at a Chicago charter school.

Knight, a seven-time Grammy Award winner, visited CICS West Belden in Chicago's Belmont-Cragin neighborhood. Knight is an ambassador of VH1's Save the Music Campaign, which just gave the school a grant to improve music instruction.

The kids performed for Knight and got to ask the legend a few questions.

Knight will perform a week from Friday at Ravinia.
