CHICAGO (WLS) -- Some parents and teachers are upset about a local McDonald's fundraiser, which they say promotes bad eating habits among kids.

The group rallied Tuesday in protest of "McTeacher's Night," which invites students to eat at McDonald's while their teachers serve them food.

A portion of event sales go schools the teachers and students represent, but they insist that promoting the event helps contribute to childhood obesity.

They also are asking that McDonald's stop marketing to children and teachers.

The group plans on sending McDonald's thousands of petitions.
