CTA contract worker Kevin Benoit electrocuted in Lincoln Park construction accident

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A CTA contract worker was electrocuted in a construction accident on the city's North Side Saturday afternoon.

Kevin Benoit, 30, of Midlothian, was among the crew working in the 800-block of North Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood when he came in contact with power lines just before 5 p.m. Saturday.

Crews were performing track work on the Brown Line "to remove slow zones and to improve rail service" as part of the Ravenswood Connector Rehabilitation Project, according to the CTA.
