CHICAGO (WLS) -- Music fans Saturday may be listening to the new music bought not online, but at a record store.

Record Store Day was started in 2007 as a way to encourage people to shop at the nearly 1,400 independently owned stores across the United States, such as Hyde Park Records.

Some musicians even issued new releases to give people an extra reason to shop.
