City honors artists who shaped Chicago's cultural life

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The city is honoring the artists who have helped shape Chicago's cultural life.

Joshlyn Lomax, 16, a singer and actress who's appeared in movies, on TV and in musical theatre, was among those being honored at the Fifth Star Awards.

She and the other honorees were recognized at a luncheon before Wednesday's big celebration at Millennium Park.

The others being recognized include blues icon Buddy Guy, Jackie Taylor, the founder of the Black Ensemble Theatre and the Second City Comedy and Improv Theatre.
