'The View' names Raven Symone as the new co-host

Hosting The View is so Raven.

Raven Symone is the newest permanent co-host, the ABC talk show announced. She'll join moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez starting Wednesday.

The actress and producer is known for her roles on The Cosby Show and Disney Channel programs like That's So Raven and The Cheetah Girls movie. She has been a regular guest co-host on the talk show recently, appearing on the panel 37 times.

"Raven is smart, funny and genuine," Executive Producer Bill Wolff said in a press release. "She brings a fresh perspective on the hot topics of the day, and she's a lively, welcome addition to our conversations and interviews."

The show congratulated the actress on social media.
