2 arrested after police surround Evanston home, officials say

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Police arrested two people after surrounding a home in suburban Evanston for reports of shots fired in the area, officials said.

After arriving at the scene, police say they observed two alleged suspects entering a residence in the 1800-block of Lake Street around 4:16 p.m. Wednesday. Police surrounded the area, and eventually the two exited the home without incident around 5:40 p.m., police said.

The two suspects - adult and juvenile males - were taken into custody and police say a .380 caliber handgun was recovered at the home.

Police are continuing to investigate.
