2 injured in Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm hay wagon accident

HOMER GLEN, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people suffered minor injuries when a hay wagon ride tilted, causing riders to fall off the ride at a pumpkin festival in suburban Homer Glen.

A man and 3-year-old child were transported from Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining 10 riders declined treatment.

A spokesperson for the family-owned farm, which has operated for over 34 years, said the hay rides will be discontinued for the rest of the season while the cause of the incident is determined, but the farm and well-known Farm Fest will remains open.

The attraction features Halloween pumpkin activities, children's' rides, a corn maze and petting zoo that cater to families and small groups.
