CHICAGO (WLS) -- Santa and Mrs. Claus will trek through the snow to spread holiday cheer with Chicago police Sunday.

They teamed up with the Police Memorial Foundation and Macy's for "Operation Santa." Officers and Santa will deliver gifts to some special people, the families of Chicago police officers killed or seriously hurt in the line of duty.

"Holidays is just a stressful time anyway when you lose people in the line of duty it's even more stressful," said Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson.

"More important than the gifts are showing those families that we haven't forgotten them," said Phil Cline, Executive Director of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

On Saturday, Santa and Mrs. Claus dropped by to see the family of Officer Michael Gordon, who was killed in 2004 when his daughter was just an infant.
