Volunteers build new playground on NW Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Hundreds of volunteers built a new playground Saturday at Thorp Scholastic Academy on Chicago's Northwest Side. Kids have a place to climb, swing and generally run around.

The project was organized by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, Kaboom and good sports.

In addition to the playground they also delivered more than $68,000 in new sports equipment to organizations around the city.
