Man, 66, killed in semi crash on Far South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 66-year-old man was killed in a crash on Chicago's Far South Side overnight.

A semi truck collided with the car he was riding in near East 103rd Street and South Stony Island Avenue around 12:20 a.m. Friday.

The victim's identity has not been released. There is no word on other injuries.

Diesel fuel from the semi gushed out onto the street, prompting first responders to call for HazMat crews to help clear the scene.

The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is looking into the cause of the crash.
