Michelle Obama dons 'The Good Wife' outfit for State of the Union

WASHINGTON -- So why in the middle of the State of the Union was "The Good Wife" popping up in social media feeds?

Whether she knew it or not, the first lady wore a gray Michael Kors tweed, front-zippered dress to the State of the Union Tuesday night that was also worn by the wife of a disgraced politician in the TV series "The Good Wife."

Kors himself tweeted, "The state of style - pretty powerful."

Julianna Margulies' character debuted the outfit on the show.

The "Origami Collar Tweed Jacket" by Michael Kors is currently sold out on Nordstrom's website and on the Neiman Marcus website. It's worth about $800.

Not to be outdone, the Republican response included perhaps the boldest fashion statement of the night - where shoes were louder than words. Senator Joni Ernst was wearing camo pumps.
