State trooper assigned to DEA task force hospitalized after law enforcement operation
An Illinois State Police officer assigned to a DEA task force has been taken to the hospital Thursday morning following an "unknown medical emergency."

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An Illinois State Police officer assigned to a DEA task force was taken to the hospital Thursday morning following an "unknown medical emergency."

The DEA confirms the task force officer was involved in an overnight law enforcement operation. Police in northwest suburban Arlington Heights said he was reported missing overnight.

Dozens of officers searched for him. He was found parked in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Respiratory Health Association near West Randolph Street and North Ogden Avenue in Chicago's West Loop.

Chopper 7HD was over the scene around 9 a.m. A number of Chicago police officers and state troopers could be seen standing in the lot. Several police vehicles blocked off the area.

An Illinois State Police officer assigned to a DEA task force has been taken to the hospital Thursday morning following an "unknown medical emergency."

The trooper was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where his condition stabilized.

Authorities have not released further details.
