CHICAGO (WLS) -- Women are told to limit their fish intake while pregnant, but new research indicates that might not be necessary.

The concern has always been mercury in the fish. Experts worry it could harm the development of a baby's brain.

But now researchers say they studied more than 1,200 women in the Seychelles, a group of islands in the Indian Ocean.

They followed the women through pregnancy until their children were nearly 2-years-old. They did not find a link between fish intake and a child's mental development.
