Spicy ideas for your summer cookout

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new restaurant is opening in Downers Grove just in time for summer. Nossa! Brazilian Grill features fast-casual, sizzling Brazilian dishes in a wrap, bowl or salad. Some of the featured grilled meats include succulent chicken, beef, sausage and a special grilled cheese. Owners Mario and Ana Santos-Vitelo visited ABC 7 to talk about the opening of their new restaurant and to share some tips to spice up your summer cookout.


Brazilian Churrasco Marinade

10 Lb Top Sirloin or chicken
1 Lb Butter
1 Spanish Onion - chopped
5 garlic cloves - chopped

1 teaspoon of dry savory
1 teaspoon of dry oregano
1 teaspoon of dry rosemary
1 teaspoon of dry thyme
1 teaspoon of dry basil

1 teaspoon of salt

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. Add the beef or chicken in the marinade and keep in the refrigerator for 2 hours. When you are grilling the meats, you can brush them with a little extra marinade.

In a bowl, mix all ingredients together and keep in the refrigerator overnight. When you are ready to grill, brush the marinade on the beef skewers and then grill meat to your desired doneness. The marinade can be used with beef, chicken or vegetables.
