CHICAGO (WLS) -- Superintendent Garry McCarthy wants a Chicago police officer who lied to be fired.

Francisco Perez lied during an investigation about an officer-involved shooting in 2011. He's the first officer to ever be recommended for termination by the Independent Police Review Authority.

Tonight, McCarthy sent an email to the rank and file, telling officers if they lie during an investigation, they too will be let go.
