Girl, 5, struck and killed by car in South Lawndale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A five-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a car in South Lawndale Wednesday.

According to police, the girl was struck by a car that was pulling into a driveway in the 2600 block of South Karlov Avenue.

The girl was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
