BARTLETT, Ill. (WLS) -- A Bartlett mother fighting cancer is asking for help after the cost of her medication jumped dramatically.

Anna Kalinowski has two special needs sons. The cost of her medication has increased to $2,200 per month, but she and her doctor are concerned that if she switches to cheaper, generic drugs it might not have the same affect.

"That's not a price I'm willing to, you know, to take," she says. "I have two special needs kids that I need to take care of. I can't just say it's not going to work, my cancer's going to spread and here we'll give you the original medication. It could be too late."

Kalinowski has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for her cancer treatment for one year. So far, she's received donations of more than $11,000 towards her goal.
