BELLWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A boil order has been lifted in west suburban Bellwood following a water main break over the weekend.

Village officials said Wednesday morning that all water samples were found to be free of bacteria. The water is now safe for consumption and no longer needs to be boiled before use.

Bellwood residents west of Mannheim Road had been under the boil order since 2 p.m. on Saturday.
