Churches around the Chicago area will be offering free health screenings and vaccinations during the Chicago First Ladies Health Day.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Churches around the Chicago area will be offering free health screenings and vaccinations during the Chicago First Ladies Health Day. The group of pastors' wives are teaming up with Walgreens to provide blood pressure checks, flu shots, and more at participating churches on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The goal of the First Ladies Health Day is to provide minority communities with the necessary resources to take control of their health. This is the 9th annual health day. To date, nearly 200,000 medical and health tests have been performed. Co-Chair of the Chicago First Ladies Health Initiative, Shauntai Stowers, and director of community affairs at Walgreens, John Gremer, sat down with Eyewitness News to talk about the importance of giving back to communities.
